I live in a small apartment, how can I play Mahjong late into the night with out making too much noise?

You can play it on the internet or u can but plastic or rubber mahjong if they have anything like that? lol or tape around ur mahjong peices
Play quietly. Use solid foam tiles.
fwiw try playing mahjong online, test yourself against the grand masters and if you create a (free) account you can play it anywhere and keep your best scores
you can also link it to your facebook account, create avatars, chat and make new friends
