i guess he meant that the knight can first jump to e2 and THEN to g3 which should be a good square for the knight to be.
Isn’t that supposed to be the advantage of white? That it starts and so has one extra move?
Lol, I didn’t even notice that. That’s hilarious!
love your vids, but can’t help but point out that around minute 4, the knight cannot go to g3, only to e2 and h3. im sure someone’s posted this before, but i just want to look cool…
just before the video starts you can see this snapshot of a chessboard with chess pieces on it… and… did you guys spot that the white queen is placed on e1 instead of d1? funny
just a thought…
Thanks for the video but i feel i have to make an observation.
When you say at this point i will stop and will try to compare the two sides,PLEASE compare the two sides when they have made equal moves! That happens to nearly every single video of yours! i realise that more openings we need to see them from white’s perspective in order to learn from the opoenings, but we can’t compare white after 5 moves and black after 4!!it is just not right!….
thanks
now i have a headache
oh that makes better sense
“Book lines” are move orders that have been tried and tested over the course of chess history in the various openings. Usually they have names (Leningrad Variation in the Dutch Defence as an example) and then have many variations and sub lines within.
Thanks for the feedback sausages1234! Glad to hear you’re getting more into the game!
Jrobi – thanks a million. Ive played Chess since I was a child, but never bothered to learn any of the strategy, so thanks a million for spending the time to make it so enjoyable.
The obvious moves
Im new at chess so whats a book line?
no.
Ja! warum?
why wouldn’t black push the c pawn and attack the knight after black retreats the bishop?
Two more things:
- the polish opening do not give any advantages to white so its better not to play it. (No Grandmasters play it)
- Bb4 is not the main line of the English and in fact does not happen very often in tournament. As far as I know e5 is the main line, and then white often has the choice between attacking the center via d4 or the queenside with b4 (not right now of course).
h3 is not a good position for the knight. as it could be taken by the bishop c8 and anyway is quite inactive.
But AFTER going to e2 the knight can go to g3 which is a better place for him.
Yeah no kidding. I watched a bunch of these videos but as a new player I encountered a lot of really unusual counters and I didn’t really know how to defend against it. Can you make some videos for n00bs like me? One time I took the center and was really surprised so i overextended my center and he was able to tear right through me and my center collapsed with not enough support.
at 3:54 the g1 night cant go to g3. i think you meant h3
This is a great idea, I’d very much love to see videos on this!
hi . not a really good chess player but , when does a night become a bishop ? ha,ha ,ha. small mistake on this video , craig a grand rookie of ha,ha,haaa chess.
hey, yeah! good idea for a new series, I would love to watch that.
me too!!!!!!
